a-kind-word-sliding-greeting-line.jpg

Miss me???? I know some people did because I have the emails to prove it {lol}. Well I have been back from Brisbane for a few days but I was straight back into classes, Which was not a great idea because I am still a little frazzled from all the excitement of the past week… I had such a wonderful time at the expo and I really enjoyed all my classes and everyone was just so lovely and friendly. I was able to catch up with old friends and make new ones, I don’t want to name drop but one of my new friends is the amazing and talented Zoe Pearn, Zoe is a Paper designer for My Minds Eye Which is one of my fave paper company’s. Her papers are wonderful and I love her Scrapbook style, She is an Aussie designing for an American based company, She designs from her Studio in Brisbane but I thought she was American, So when she started talking I was a little surprised to hear the Australian accent. I am pretty sure this is not the last time I will speak of Zoe {wink}

I want to thank the girls at Scrapapple Angela, Louisa and Stacey for having me teach for them, A huge thankyou to the my classroom assistants essentially Janelle and I really need to thank my Mum who saved the day several times over the week including when we got a flat tyre on my car in the middle of Brisbane and she quite bravely went into a worksite and asked some lovely guys to come and help, While I stood at my car saying No, Mum I can do it myself…. Then the guys come over and I could not even workout where my spare tyre was, Which just incase anyone else drives a PT Cruiser, our spare tyre is under the car {lol}.

I do have a little more exciting news to share about the expo but I can’t spill the beans yet…. As soon as I can I will let you know.

I do have a card to show you after all my chit chat, This is one of the cards that we did in my class this week after I got home. It is just a cute card from the front how you can see the little girl through the Window.

September’s publications

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

I would normally not say this but YAY ME….. I am very proud of myself this month (so is my Mum), I designed the cover projects of this month’s “For Keeps Creative Paper” magazine (everything on the cover is done my me) and I also have 4 cards in the latest Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine….

Here is my cover of For Keeps Creative Paper, I almost died when the editor Casey Wilson emailed me and ASKED me (yes ME) to do the cover project…This is the biggest thing I have ever done and I am very proud of my achievement. The feet and shoes belong to my sweet little Niece Bailey Jane (when she was a baby) and the photo’s on the cube are her as well. I had a great time last week, I took Bailey into the newsagent and walked up to the craft section with her, I did not say anything to her that she was on the cover and wanted to see if she would notice….She looked at the magazine, Pulled on my skirt, Look up at me and said “Auntie, Auntie….look that’s Bailey” I just wish I had a camera to capture her excited little face. This is not the first time she has been in a magazine (she was in a project I did for Scrapbooking Memories last year but we told her she was in the magazine). So for more details check out the current issue of For Keeps Creative Paper.

And I also have four cards in Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine this month, Here are the cards I made using Bud Basic. I did these cards a while ago and I think my style has changed since then.

stamping-and-papercraft-choc-buds-2.jpg

I just can’t believe how far I have come in the past year and I am so grateful for the people who have encouraged me to “dream big”. Not in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought I would have anything published in a magazine let alone be asked to do a COVER, Or make a living out of Papercraft by Teaching, design work and doing Stampin’ Up!.

Stampin’ Up! have done a great job with the selection of stamps in this Mini… My wish list is HUGE ;0. I have a few Birthdays in August so I have lots of reasons to get stamping and show you some of the new stamps now I can find my desk again I have so busy working on different projects in the past few weeks my craft area has gotten so unorganised and I hate when its like that, so on Sunday I cleaned up and now I feel so much better.

This is one of the projects I have been working on… I made LOTS of these to go with my Mini Catalogue’s I mailed out. I had help make these from my sweet niece Bailey (who is only 2) and she helped stamp the fruit, So if you get one in the mail that just does not look like my normal ’standard’, it was one Bailey helped with. ;0)
