christmas-classics-tripe-star-line.jpg

OMG Christmas is now under a week away and I still have loads of cards and projects to show you before Christmas comes and goes….. Like most people I am very busy getting ready for Christmas although I finished my shopping weeks ago and made my cards months ago I still feel like I have a million things to do! for the first year I am the family “Chef” this Christmas, this is a role my sister has held for many years and always cooks the most amazing meals for our Christmas celebrations so I have such huge shoes to fill as my niece Bailey who is only 4 told me last week “My Mummy is the best at everything not you Aunty you just do good craft not cooking….Nooooooo {shaking her head} not good cooking” Can you can see what I am up against? Up until Bailey told me that I did not think I was that bad at cooking but wish me luck!

Seeing I am good at craft I better talk about these cards, I have two simple and elegant cards that are very quick to make to share with you today. For both I have stamped the star in Night of Navy ink over the front of the card and sponged the edge, I stamped the star on Navy cardstock in VersaMark and embossing in Silver then punched the image out with the Star Punch. I have embossed the greeting in Silver as well.

Christmas Treats

sweet-treats-xmas-card-line.jpg

I am almost out of Christmas cards and projects to share with you but I really like this card, I have a few people that LOVE chocolate and will really appreciate a card with candy. I have used the Sweet Treat Cups from the Summer Mini with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to create this Christmas bauble filled with red M&M’s. The top of the bauble is made by punching a little of the 1 3/4″ circle and one of the petals from the 5 Petal Punch using Riding Hood Red Cardstock, sponged then attached above the 1 3/4″ Circle punch out.

Like this card? Well I still have a few spots for my Friday night class making this card and a second “Sweet Treats” flower card.

Stepped up “Plain Frame”

I am stepping it up…. well stepping up my card, Yesterday I posted a very clean and simple Christmas card that is a great card to make in bulk this Christmas season but I thought it would be fun to show you what it looks like with a bit of ribbon and a few more layers because if you have been following my blog for a while you would know I love my layers and ribbon. This card is perfect to make for a special few.

Just to remind you of the clean and simple version:

Here it is stepped up, Can you spot the difference? Lol This time it is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

And any stepped up card needs to be completely finished with a pretty inside.

I am really happy with both cards, In many of my cards I use lots of layers, sponging and ribbon because my style has changed over the years as I used to have a very clean and simple style using very few layers like the first card but still using lots of ribbon. I have come so far in the past few years with my work and style, hugely because of Stampin’ Up! for their fabulous products {I always say it’s the products that make my cards look good not so much me} I have been able to leave my full time job to become a fulltime Papercraft Tutor and SU Demo, I wake up everyday loving what I am doinbg. I want to thank everyone who reads my blog, the ones who leave me comments or emails me because I really, really appreciate it. I sometimes hate blogging because it can take so much time and some weeks I am just so busy I struggle to fit everything in but sometimes the comments keeps me going and wanting to update my blog {no pressure to comment now but} I am sure others who blog themselves and read this know what I am saying {gee I hope so}. WHY am I saying all this? Well I have no idea, I think looking at the two cards has made me realise how far I have come in the past 3 years. I was very, very close to leaving Stampin’ Up! last month as they refined some demo rules which I do agree with them doing this, but I would have been breaking some of the refined rules so I was struggling all October with what to do as Stampin’ Up! is so much more then Stamps to me, It is my living, I live and breath Stampin’ Up! it is such a huge part of “me” I could not give that up, It has helped guide me to a place in my life that I thought I would never be and I am very grateful for that.

Well that’s enough from me for today I think I am best to stop at this point, But I have more Christmas cards for you this week…. :)

Plain Frame

winter-post-plain-frame-line.jpg

Another week has just escaped me and now the weekend is over, I had a massive week and needed to do some major catch up this weekend which I am happy to say has worked and I am back on track. One of the tasks on my to do list this weekend was to take photos of all my Christmas cards I have been making, But when I look at them all I realised they are all so plain, I have not used more then 3 tones on each card, I can’t even say colours because two of the tones are Whisper White or Very Vanilla with Choc Chip or Black. So I have called this blog entry “plain” frame because I am so boring with my colour combos.

Having said that about this card being plain, I do love how simple and elegant it is. This card is also one of my Stamp-A-Stack cards for this week, So if you need to make a few more Christmas Cards and happy to make “plain” cards {lol} I still have spots in the following classes:
