Let’s keep it nice
I just wanted to pop in and clear the air: Last night I received a comment on my blog that was not very friendly. When the comment first came through I did not delete it, I was taken back but I also questioned myself if what she said was true, So I thought I should let her say what she wanted to say. After a few comments and emails from my very sweet blog readers today I have now deleted the comment.
I guess I just want everyone to know, I have this blog because I completely love Papercraft and Stamping, I really do enjoy sharing what I have made with you all in the same way I LOVE checking out everyone else’s blogs and seeing what they have done. I am my toughest critic and very hard on myself, I know when I have made something good but in the most part I just think what I have created is mediocre, and I am not just saying that. I think it is important that we all share what we love and inspire each other. SO I ask to please keep it Nice not just here but on all blogs… I am a little fragile at the moment so please handle with care ![]()

Oh Teneale!!! So sorry to read this!!! How nasty! Just so you know - I love you & all you do - i’ve been a fan for a long time & I was so pleased to meet you at convention!!! Sock Monkey thinks you’re a bit of all right too!
May 10th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
Teneale I didn’t see the comment but I feel very sad that there are people out there who want to knock other people so publicly.
For those of you who have never met Teneale let me just say she is the most humble, beautiful, helpful person you could ever meet. She gives so much of herself to everybody, finds it very hard to say no to people and deserves every bit of succsess that comes her way.
Teneale it is a pleasure to know you.

Hi Teneale, I spent this morning looking at all the swaps my sister inlaw Sarah Klass brought back from convention and one of my fav swaps was a card made by you. Sarah told me to come and check out your blog and here I am thoroughly enjoying looking at your beautiful work and excellent water colouring. I’m sorry someone was rude to you on your blog. I didnt read it …but that sort of thing is so not needed and it makes me wonder what a person actually gets out of writing such unnecessary comments. It is wonderful that you share your work and inspire others, please continue to do so because it is enjoyed and appreciated!
May 10th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Teneale and I meet for the first time last year in Sydney at the Regional- we had both been published in the same magazine.
If you have not had the great fortune to meet Teneale, she is the most nicest, person you could meet. Her creations are amazing. And a sweet and generous person.
I also did not read the comment but I am in shock… some people can be so nasty and thoughtless. Hope she now regrets her remarks.
Keep up the great work Teneale you are an inspiration to us all.
May 10th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
I am just a blog reader and finf it relaxing and enjoying, You are on my list of favourites. Please don’t let one of the not so nice spoil it for you and others. Mwah and a big hug too
May 10th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
I didn’t read the comment either, and I think I am glad…because I would be so MAD! I would have to find her and make her take it back (and you know how tough I am!)
For those who don’t know, I feel very blessed to have the privilege of knowing Teneale as not just a fellow demo but as a friend, and my only criticism of her is that she has so little confidence is herself. Teneale is the furthest thing from “up herself” (if that’s what the comment said) that you have ever met…which is just astounding considering her awesome ability and talent. It is very rare that I hear her say “I am happy with that” when she makes something, and when she does, I applaud…as should you all!
Love you Teneale!
xoxo

Just wanted to say that I did a class, taught by Teneale yesterday….and her cards are even better in real life!!! You have done some lovely work Teneale. Thankyou!
May 10th, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Teneale……..you have every reason to be confident in your work because it is always stunning!! Hugs to you, and please keep sharing your beautiful creations with us. xxoo
May 10th, 2009 at 5:24 pm
Hi Teneale.
I read your blog this morning and saw THAT comment and thought it was the most ungracious thing to say to someone who does us ALL an enormous favour by sharing her creations.
I would love to have even a small amount of the talent that you have and I look forward to each new post on your blog.
THANK YOU for being such an inspiration!
May 10th, 2009 at 5:30 pm
That just makes me cross. I have discovered though that there are some people out there that just dont “get it”. Usually it’s jealousy though, so it’s pretty sad. There is another blogger who is also very talented and she received the same kind of negative attention… once again, her work is amazing and it has to be jealousy for sure. Maybe it’s the same person? Because surely there cant be too many people out there like that? You are amazingly talented Teneale, so hold your head up high! BIg hugs, Linda H
May 10th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
We love what you do Teneale! Don’t let it get you down
And, cheers to keeping it nice. I am all for throwing around a bit of criticism/feedback, as long as it’s all constructive and fair.
May 10th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
Teneale, you know what….people just are plain jealous..so just ignore them. Your work is insanly beautiful and I am inspired by everything you do..
May 10th, 2009 at 7:03 pm
I agree people who leave nasty messages ars usually jealous. I look at your work in awe. You are one very talented lady. I love your cards. They are gorgeous and very professional. You will find that people in life like to tear you down and it is usually when your at your lowest. Keep smiling and creating. YOur doing a wonderful job
May 10th, 2009 at 7:12 pm
Hi Teneale,
I read the comment and I personally think the lady who made the statement is just down right rude and obviously has very big issues she needs to deal with!!!! There is no need for such negativity with this fun hobby we are all enjoying, only encouragement and praise! You just keep pumping out that gorgeous work and can I just say (humour me if you will!) that if I was making gorgeous creations like you do - I WOULD BE up myself! roflol You go girl - I love what you do along with many others! Your a god send in the paper crafting world in my eyes!
Big hugs to you my friend
Luv Karen

Good grief! It amazes me that somebody would spend their time looking at the blogs of people who do nothing other than share their boundless talent with the world and think of nothing better to do than leave a nasty comment!
Having followed your blog for some time since discovering it last year, and then having had the pleasure of meeting you in person just last weekend, I can quite positively say that you are one of the MOST humble and LEAST “up yourself” people I have ever met!
Perhaps this Jessica chick could go and get herself a life and some talent and then she might be less inclined to slag off those who obviously have it in spades!
Keep sharing your beautiful stuff Teneale - the papercrafting world is such a better place with you in it!
Lots of love,
S x
May 10th, 2009 at 8:38 pm
Wow! This Jessica has really made a name for herself now hasn’t she? I too haven’t read her comments to you Teneale but I’m glad I didn’t. I love to visit your blog along with all the other talented ladies out there in blog land and feel so inspired by what you do. I wonder if this “Jessica” has a blog? How would she feel if this situation was reversed? As my Grandmother used to say, “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all”. Keep on stamping and creating Teneale, I love your work.
May 10th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
Teneale,
Jo
I have only recently discovered your blog, and love what you choose to share with all who care to view it. I hope that all the postiive response that I have read in response to this sad person’s comments have helped to erase her negative “vibes”. Please know that we love your work!
May 10th, 2009 at 9:21 pm
Hey Teneale
Keep up the good work, as i said previously i only found you from Convention and am now hooked, you are such a talented person.

Very sad to read this today. Ditto to what everyone has said above. As hard as it is to do (and I know how you’re feeling) rising above this event will only make you a stronger person. Time to try to be the ‘coffee bean’. Give me a call if you need to chat.
May 10th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Wow Teneale, I’m really sorry to read that someone left a nasty comment on your blog. I didn’t actually get to chat to you whilst swapping at Convention, but please know how much I admire your creative talents. Everything you produce is just beautiful and please try not to let the turkeys get you down.
May 11th, 2009 at 4:48 am
You do beautiful work! I didn’t see the comment either but you should know there are lots of us who love reading your blog and seeing your creations. Keep it up!
May 11th, 2009 at 6:58 am
Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus Teneale. Agree with everything everyone has said about ‘that post’ although I didn’t read it. That was downright nasty and no-one needs that crap! I haven’t met you, but I am a regular viewer on your blog and I really like what you do - I think my first comment to the friend that showed me your blog was “WOW, WOW, WOW.”
And as a slight aside, I have to say I was really shocked when I read on your blog that you were worried that no-one would want to swap with you at convention. C’mon girl! You are good! And people clearly love you and your work. It is OK to believe in yourself and believe the good press you get y’know. It really is! Maybe you should get yourself a little file containing all the comments people have written on this post and copies of all your published work and just read and look at it all from time to time. No-one needs to know, but it might help you feel better on those bad days.
Yeah I am a bit of a talker when I get going! Sorry ’bout that but I think it’s really important that we be good to ourselves.
Take care - big hugs
Sharon
May 11th, 2009 at 8:31 am
Teneale, I enjoy your blog very much. You have amazing talent and are sharing with us and for that I am very grateful! If someone said something mean it could be for a few reasons: They are jealous because they can’t compete with your creativity, They were having an extremely bad day and didn’t take heed when their momma said that if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all, They are just plaid mean. Those are the things I could come up with. I’m sorry that you had to experience that. Unfortunately, they probably thought they were being ‘helpful’. Just chalk it up to….whatever and wipe the chalk dust off your hands! I hope you have a great day today, and know that there are those of us who are really glad you have this blog because we get great inspiration here!
May 11th, 2009 at 9:46 am
Hi Teneale,
you do lovely work so there is no need for you to doubt yourself! Enjoy yourself and please keep sharing it with us. BTW I meant to let you know that I really appreciated the tutorial you posted on how you got that great effect on the Inspired with Nature stamp. I’m looking forward to trying that!

People are usually nasty when they are envious or inadequate. I think your cards are beautiful and your generosity in sharing on your blog is much appreciated.
May 11th, 2009 at 10:11 am
Hi Teneale
I just wanted to say that I love your work, it is truely fabulous. I visit often, but don’t always comment. I didn’t read the comment from ‘jessica’, but feel that you should ignore it because she obviously doesn’t know talent when she sees it.

I too have had the privilege of being on the receiving end of your expertise and creativity through classes and on your website. I love what you can do with pieces of card and stamps and admire your skills and dedication. On the occasions when I have met you in person you are always willing to share your ideas and encourage us to try them ourselves (ribbon tying - “I will show you, but you have to do it!”) Please don’t let the comments of one person ruin your passion. There will always be someone willing to put you down, but just remember that you have encouraged and inspired so many people, and I hope will continue to do so.
May 11th, 2009 at 11:08 am
Dear Teneale,
I didn’t read the comment but all I can say is those who have negativity in their lives use up more energy being that way and people will avoid them. When surrounded by happy and supportive people your life blossoms. Also, what goes around comes around. Really love your outstanding work. Wish I could meet you! Love Leanne from Brisvegas.
May 11th, 2009 at 11:19 am
Hi Teneale,
I’m sad to hear that you have been upset by a comment that has been left on your blog by someone nasty & who quite clearly has no idea about you.
You have so many wonderful followers who leave you wonderful comments & so much love what you do, so don’t take any notice of this insignificant Jessica who should pull her head in!
sending you a big hug
xx Petronela
May 11th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Hi Teneale…I didn’t see the comment you are speaking about, but I wanted to let you know that I think you are wonderful. No matter what anyone else says about you, you should believe in the fact that you are very talented! I love your blog and always look forward to seeing your wonderful creations. I had the pleasure of hearing and seeing you at one of Angela’s team meetings and I think that your sweet spirit shines through…even through your obvious shyness. Please don’t let one mean spirited person get you down….there are clearly many more people who appreciate your wonderful talent…and let’s face it, she was probably jealous of you!
May 11th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Hey chickie -
I will never understand why people take time out for negativity - especially about art, which I think most of us see as a break from life. I didn’t see it, thankfully, but what I can say is that you are a phenomenally talented woman whose work I look forward too, and I make sure that your blog is a part of my very, very busy life.
Maybe she just needs our prayers and empathy because there’s something wrong we don’t know about. I hope that’s the case.
Love your space here. Keep it up.
May 11th, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Hi Teneale
Although I dont know you personally - I love coming to your blog everyday to see what youve done.
I never read the negative comment?! So I dont know what was said. Perhaps they were having a bad day??? Anyway - that is no excuse…..
LET ME TELL YOU - I LOVE YOUR WORK - I LOVE WHAT YOU SHARE - I FOUND YOU THRU SPLITCOAST - SO I WAS EXCEPTIONALLY BLESSED TO FIND OUT THAT YOU WERE AN AUSSIE!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR WORK!

Oh Teneale, hearing that you have been left a nasty comment breaks my heart! It is just so wrong on so many levels, and so far from the truth!
I was so pleased to finally meet the wonderful person behind all those amazing creations I have been viewing over the past year at Convention, and once more to know that you are the sweetest gal, I could know.
Please don’t take this sad person’s critisism on board, as you are nothing short of a sensational stamper, and talented beyond measure!
We all love what you do, and share with us all.
Thinking of you and sending big hugs your way!
Love Keesh x
May 11th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Teneale, I love your creations! I have been stamping now for 2 months & found you through another Stampin Up demonstrator—I’m not joking when I say your emails excite me!! Your work is inspirational, creative & I can only imagine that you are a caring, thoughtful, heartfelt person–& I wish you were in my life for many a “Cuppa” here in the blue mountains–my mum says to me “There will always be nasties out there” Don’t let anyone crush your spirit–you are a worthy person & definitely bring “Wow” to our stamping lives—I can only hope my hubby would get his butt home early from work so i can come to do your courses!!!! I am a big fan!!!!!
May 11th, 2009 at 8:10 pm
Hi Teneale
I’m a ‘blog-surfer’ too…have my little list of faves on my desktop that I check out twice a day and you are there because I love your creativity. Keep on stampin those beautiful cards…you inspire a lot of people out here in Blog-land!!!
May 11th, 2009 at 8:51 pm
Hi Teneale
All you have to do is look at all the amazing comments that these wonderful people out there in blog land have left for you and that 1 nasty little pathetic comment really doesn’t mean a thing!! You have been in my favorites since I started crafting again and blogging, I check your blog at least once a day and have been inspired by so many of your beautiful creations. So from 1 Aussie to another, and this is coming all the way from the UK, keep smiling, keep stamping and please keep sharing your wonderful talent.

All I can say is ‘don’t let the turkeys get you down’. Savour the positive comments and throw out the negative. Your work is incredible, I love coming to your blog, I get a ‘wow’ moment every time. Your convention swap, the beautiful card for your Mum, the one for your sister, awesome, & they’re just the ones off the top of my head. Please keep up the good work, & keep on blogging, cause there are far more people that are for you than against.
May 11th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
So much I want to say, I don’t know where to start. ‘I also questioned myself if what she said was true’ - you said. Don’t make Jessicas one grain of ‘truth’ carry more wieght than all of the positive ‘truth’ comments you get. That someone could leave such a comment on any stamping blog just defies everyones comprehension. There is obviously a big problem here, but it is not with you, and you don’t have to change or fix it. Ask yourself, who owns this problem? Sure you have to deal with it, for now, but honey the problem is definitely not about you!!!!
I often like to see what you’ve made on your blog. I just wish you’d blog more often, your work of such a high standard and thats why we love to come here.
May 11th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Hi. I saw one of your cards on Makeesha’s blog this morning so clicked on your name to see your blog. Your work is amazing and I’m adding your blog to the list of blogs I visit each day! I also read what you said about the gal leaving a nasty comment. All I can say is “what’s her problem?” I am your newest new fan!
May 12th, 2009 at 11:37 am
Everyone has already expressed themselves so beautifully. All I can add is that whoever it was obviously doesn’t know you in the slightest.
I can’t help but add that I nearly spat a mouthful of tea out onto my computer screen after reading Petronela say “pull her head in”. Classic… can’t believe that came from Petronela. LOLOLOLOLOL. That’s got to give you a giggle Teneale.
May 12th, 2009 at 1:03 pm
Oh Teneale, I am so sorry that this has happened to you, like everyone else here, I am a HUGE fan of your talented and beautiful work. I felt so priviledged to receive one of your convention swaps and to actually meet you in person. Please know that you are so well respected and admired by the stamping community, dont let one person bring you down and make you doubt yourself. Not only have I admired your work for so long, but now that I have met you, I am amazed at how lovely and humble you are as well. You keep creating and blogging, sending you big cyber hugs xx
May 12th, 2009 at 1:35 pm
Teneale, l found your blog only a few days ago after seeing the simply amazing swap that you took to convention (Yvonne C was showing me hers). Well, l nearly died on the spot, it’s the most beautiful card, and made me want to buy everything used to make it straight away LOL. I then found your blog, and wanted to echo everyone else by saying that you’re amazingly talented, and don’t let the turkeys get you down!
May 12th, 2009 at 5:16 pm
Hi Teneale, I am so sorry to hear that a “nasty comment” was left for you. As has been stated in all the amazing comments above, please don’t let one person cause you to doubt yourself in any way. You are the most amazing, creative, talented and beautiful person that I have had the priviledge of meeting. Like many other people, I check your blog everyday. Your work is so creative and you are an inspiration to us all. I wish that I had 1/100th of your talent. Please keep creating, blogging and sharing your amazing talent with us all. Please know that you bring much joy to many people’s lives.
May 12th, 2009 at 7:55 pm
Hi Teneale! so sorry to read about this. Please do not let people who have acid tongues, and nothing much to do except be jealous of what talent you have, affect the beautiful creations that you make. Love your blog and love visiting it to see what you have been up to. Power on!
May 12th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Well, you already know where I stand on this topic having supported me through my own dramas from those too gutless to say what they really think and hide behind anonymous and made up names. It’s happened to me too as you know and in a way it was a gift because it really showed me who my true friends were and those who were just insecure and jealous. You will never change those people, it permeates all areas of their lives, so let them be psycho and just hold your head high and stick with those who are positive and passionate and love you to bits. There are many of us! (Oh - and don’t believe the Jessica bit for one minute
)
May 13th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
Hi Teneale,
Just wanted to say I think your cards are simply gorgeous. I always love visiting your blog for a dose of inspiration and for a look at what can be created with great products and awesome talent.
Take care,
Sue

Hugs to you honey
May 14th, 2009 at 8:41 am
Teneale you are amazing and inspirational. Obviously this Jessica person has no idea about anything!!!!
May 20th, 2009 at 7:17 pm
After meeting you at convention and being in total “AWE” of your work, I just wanted to agree with Jayne and say….Rise above it, young lady!
You seem to me to be someone who truely embodies our Statement of the Heart: “To love what we do, and share what we love..”
You have my support, Teneale
May 26th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
Tenneale, Some people are cruel in this world. Some people are just jealous
of the lovely work you do with your cards. Nothing is a trouble to you. I just love papercraft to and enjoy it very much. You do some really lovely work and it is always your very own. Those kind of people are not worth worrying about. Margaret

Hi Teneale, I am obviously very late to the party, LOL! I just wanted to chime in here and say that even after only having the chance to spend a small amount of time with you this weekend, I felt very lucky to have met you. You made me feel at ease as soon as we started talking, and I cannot tell you how much that means to me. You are SO talented, and such a wonderful, caring and warm human being. Please don’t let the nasties who have nothing better to do than criticise people who are more talented than themselves define you. ((HUGS))
July 5th, 2009 at 6:15 pm
Hi Teneale.
I came across your blog a couple of days ago and was so inspired I bookmarked so I could return and become a follower. You have such amazing and exquisite creations and I would like to thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Having returned today and then seen your note about a negative comment you received, although I haven’t read it myself I can only say what many other people have said.
People who react and treat other people in this nasty negative way are acting on jealousy. You can only pity them, as they must have such sad lives without true friendship and love.
All of which is quite clear from your blog you have in abundance. Along with talent and a kind heart.
Keep on doing what you do and pity those who have to respond on a blog in a negative manner to get themselves noticed.
Big Hugs
Julie
